As a gay nightclub known as the Pulse closed last night and people began to prepare to leave is when authorities say Omar Mateen, 29, of Fort Pierce, Florida, carried an assault rifle and a pistol into the packed club about 2 a.m. Sunday and started shooting more than 50 rounds of gun fire.
