Marriage is ordained by God; it is His institution. So the enemy is trying to break what God has put together. This story and teaching may give you the guidance and strength to know that you are not alone.
And the Lord God said, ‘It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him’ . . . And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said: ‘This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.’ Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh (Gen. 2:18, 21-24).
Didn’t God say he would protect me? Why would he guide me straight to pain and heartache in my marriage? Any kind of pain is like being a child alone in a dark bedroom, without a night-light, aware of a monster under the bed. We just want someone to turn on the light switch and make the monster disappear. When God says, “Do not fear,” it’s because there are things to fear in this cursed world, but he wants us to not fear that which is fearful.
