Thursday morning the manager of a PNC Bank in Zebulon held a back door shut as an armed man tried to enter the bank. Police said this effort stopped the bank from being robbed.

The report stated that suspect approached the rear door of the PNC Bank branch on North Arendell Avenue around 9:15 a.m.

Just by chance the manager of the bank happened to be near the back door when the robber walked to the door. The bank manager held the door shut while the suspect struggled to open it.

Zebulon Police Chief Tim Hayworth said “The manager grabbed the door and entered a little game of tug-of-war.”
