Officials said that the ex-boyfriend of a teen who was found shot to death in a car in Salisbury Monday night has been charged with her murder.

In a statement from the police, 20-year-old Brandon Jerron Hawkins of Salisbury has been charged with first-degree murder and larceny of a firearm.

The victim, Danielle Crowder had been shot to death and her body was found in a 1991 Honda Accord parked in an apartment parking lot in the 300 block of N. Long Street near Park Avenue.

Crowder’s mother reported her missing earlier Monday, her body was found around 7 p.m. Crowder’s death being investigated as homicide according to officials. They do not believe the killing was a random act of violence.
