The bowl losing streak ended on Saturday with the Duke Blue Devils football teams 44-41 double overtime win over Indiana.
The Pinstripe Bowl game was played at Yankee Stadium in New York City and featured a lot of offence and not very much defense. The score went back and forth and finally ended on a missed 38 yard field goal attempt by Indiana in the 2nd overtime giving Duke the win.
Duke snapped a five-game bowl losing streak and won its first postseason game since beating Arkansas in the 1961 Cotton Bowl.
Duke’s 1st bowl win in 50 plus years marks a milestone for the football program and will be the last game as the Associate Head football Coach – Offensive Coordinator for Scottie Montgomery as he moves on to be the head football coach for the East Carolina Pirates.
