According to Raleigh police on Tuesday afternoon an eastbound Amtrak train hit and killed a man on the rail line which cuts through the North Carolina State University campus. Police have said the accident occurred at about 3:20 p.m. behind 621 Motor Pool St., east of Gorman Street.
Fencing lines the tracks across campus, but there is a hole in the fence near where the body was found. The 51-year-old man hasn’t been identified, however police said he wasn’t affiliated with N.C. State.
