According to authorities a man and a woman were arrested for child abuse after a Raleigh woman found a child in her recycling bin Saturday morning.  Melissa White said she was taking the trash out when she discovered the child hiding inside the bin.

White said “I walked over to open the trash…I saw him in there and then I slammed it shut.”  White claims after discovering the boy, she was then shocked by what the child told her when she asked why he was in the recycling bin.

According to White “He said he couldn’t take it no more. He said every day he was getting beat for making mistakes.”  The woman told dispatchers, the 9- or 10-year-old child was running from his parents on Friday night after he was beaten.

White also said the child had a bloody face and that he had escaped from his parents.  The child had been hiding for several hours during the day and throughout the night before he was found.

White claims “He was going to wait for the garbage people to come and take the garbage away. That’s when he was going to run.”  The child’s parents, 29 year old Jillian Randel Davis and 25 year old Leroy Blake were both charged with intentional child abuse inflicting serious physical injury.

Both Davis and Blake were detained at the Wake County Detention Center on Monday under $50,000 bonds.  Police said the boy was in custody of social services.
