A Durham man who was accused of shooting a Durham police officer was cleared and charged only with common law robbery.
Carlos Antonio Riley Jr. maintained his innocence in shooting officer Kelly Stewart on December 2012, saying that the officer accidentally shot himself during a struggle during the robbery.
