Early Thursday morning while on the way to pick up a customer, an Uber driver in Raleigh made a shocking discovery.  Matt Duncan said he saw a toddler in the middle of Cowper Drive while driving in the Five Points area at 3 a.m.

Duncan said  “I pulled up and he was just kind of standing there. I didn’t know what else to do other than to stop and figure out what was going on.”

When Duncan found the boy he immediately called 911 when he did not see any adults present.  Duncan said he stayed with the child until police arrived, and in the short time he noticed the toddler was very smart.

Duncan also said the toddler was “Pretty strong too because the car door was pretty heavy and he was just opening it and closing it.” The child’s father declined speaking to WRAL News, but was very happy his child was found safe.

According to police, no charges will be filed.
