Tuesday evening four people were hospitalized after a vehicle collided with a Raleigh fire truck at Glenwood Avenue and Pleasant Valley Drive.

No firefighters were injured, however a 30-year-old female and three children, ages 5, 3 and 1, were transported to WakeMed. According to Raleigh police none of the victims were believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries.

Police said the accident happened when the fire truck was crossing Glenwood Avenue on Pleasant Valley Drive when it was hit by a Mazda sedan. A witness confirmed that the fire truck had its lights and sirens on before the collision.

Westbound lanes of Glenwood Avenue were closed at the intersection for hours due to the collision.
