BIO

Harold Francis Trice, born February 16th, is one of nine children born to the late Reverend Norman Aaron Trice and the former Susie Speed. He is a native of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina and a product of the Wake County School System. In 1964 he enrolled in the Saint Augustine’s College, Raleigh, North Carolina, where he majored in Elementary and Physical Education and graduated in 1968. In 1969 he attended the Sedalia Bible Institute, Newark, New Jersey.

The Trice family served many years in the First Baptist Church, Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina where his father Reverend Norman A. Trice served as pastor on the 1st and 3rd Sundays (and 2nd & 4th Sundays at the Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.)

On Sunday, October 10, 1971 Brother Trice gave his initial sermon, “A Vision Changed A Man”, Isaiah 6:6 at the First Baptist Church. On Sunday, February 27th, 1972 the Wake Baptist Association, under the Reverend James David Lockley, ordained him..

In 1974 he was called to pastor the Elevation Missionary Baptist Church, in Raleigh, North Carolina, were he served for five years. Because of the declining health of his father, in 1980 Reverend Trice began serving as the Assistant Pastor of Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Butner, North Carolina where his father served faithfully for 49 years until his death, February 12, 1981.

With a membership of 90 and an annual budget of $24,000.00, on April 12, 1981, Reverend Harold Trice was installed as the 5th pastor of the Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Since that time, the membership has more than quadrupled and the church has consistently been recognized as one of the one of the most progressive churches in Granville County.

Currently, Pastor Trice serves and is the co-owner of the family business, Trice Funeral Home, Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. He is the father of two children, Harold Jr. and Krystal Trice and grandfather of two granddaughters, Amyah Brenae’ and Brook Cecelia Trice.
