A fruit that that provides it all! Watermelon is packed with antioxidants, as well as have high amounts of vitamin C and A. The potassium content rivals what a banana provides and can help with muscle and nerve function. In addition, watermelon provides hydration for the body due to 92% of its weight coming from water. This fruit will help keep you satisfied and can take care of any sweet cravings you may have this summer. Add a cup of watermelon to your lunch or have it as a snack on a hot summer afternoon.

Monica Martinez, MPH, RD, LD is a registered dietitian who received a Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition from the University of Texas at Austin and completed her Master’s of Public Health Degree and dietetic internship at the University of Texas Health Science Center and School of Public Health.
