His last degree earned was Doctorate of Ministry from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio December 2007.

Rev. Johnson’s emphasis has been on promoting spiritual growth among all age groups. It has been his passion to train disciples in knowing how to study the Word of God and to train people to minister in their gifted area of ministry. Under his leadership Mt. Sinai has broaden its Christian Education ministry. The church has adopted an approach to church growth by reaching and ministering to people through Sunday school. Mt. Sinai has re-energized its Sunday school by focusing on evangelism, enrollment and attendance and starting new classes. In 1998 he started a Christian Life Academy, which offers additional Christian Education courses for members of the church and community.

As a result a number of new ministries formed; 9-12 year old ministry was organized; an expansion of the Wednesday Night Fellowship to include Fellowship Dinner and Bible study taught by Rev. Johnson, an Early Sunday Morning Prayer Team was organized to pray for Sunday services and members of the church.
