The Single Mother’s Empowerment is important to us for various reasons. In Washington, D.C., January 4, 2013, (LifeSiteNews.com) stated that the number of children living in single-parent homes has nearly doubled since 1960, according to data from the 2010 Census. The Washington Times analyzed the most recent census data, showing that the percentage of two-parent families has dropped significantly over the past decade in all 50 states. Even as the total number of American households with children increased by 160,000, the number of two-parent households decreased by 1.2 million. Today, one-third of American children, a total of 15 million, are being raised without a father. I ask you to support this movement and its cause by joining us for a semi-formal to formal, red-carpet fundraising event for two great causes, Single Mother’s and the LOVE Center. This worthy and spectacular event, the Single Mother’s Empowerment, will be held at the HaytiHeritageCenter on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 7:00pm. The Single Mother’s Empowerment will feature a live band, guest speakers/acts, a celebrity performer, a light dinner and the awarding of our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Single Mother of the Year! We are requesting that everyone wears black & white to commemorate this event.
