 Every Monday TV 5 news anchor Gerald Owens gives you a quick recap of the weekend’s big news stories and a heads up on what’s coming up in the WRAL TV-5 evening news.   

Owens a 20 year television veteran started his career in 1993, as a reporter trainee at WUSA-TV in Washington, D.C. and began working at WRAL TV-5 in 2002.

Today Owens recapped the typhoon that hit the Philippines and the relief effort coming in from all over the world including the United States, the young people that died in the crashed after trying to avoiding a police check point in Harnett County, a Johnson County 18 year old charged with reckless driving crossed the center line and killed a 64 year old couple hat died in the crash, Duke Football Team’s big win over NC State and the Carolina Panthers are looking like a NFL playoff team. Owens gave a preview of what is coming up this evening. Greg Fishel and Mike Mayes will talk about the change in our weather and the chance of light snow in the forecast for Tuesday.
