Dr. Patrick L. Wooden, Sr. and the Upper Room Sanctuary Choir have released their inspiring new project called “Worship in the Upper Room ~ Standing in Your Presence. Remaining a rising influence in the gospel industry, Dr. Wooden’s vision to reach the masses has taken place through the melodic collaboration of songs that ignite true praise and worship. He along with the Upper Room Sanctuary Choir have taken the ministry of Gospel Music to heart by singing songs that exalts, worships, and praises the God of the Bible.
Dr. Wooden serves as the pastor of the Upper Room Church of God in Christ in Raleigh, NC. This internationally known visionary, leader, author, singer, and song writer remains motivated through preaching and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ without compromise. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and modeled his life to be an example of what God can do if you serve Him whole heartedly. Along with his pastoral ministry, Dr. Wooden walks in a musical anointing with the ability to write and arrange beautiful songs of worship and praise.
The Upper Room Sanctuary Choir was formed in 1981 with just seven voices prior to the pastorship of Dr. Wooden, but has grown and remained a staple in the ministry. Under the direction of Clarence “Rocky” Raeford, the choir presents a flawless combination of COGIC style and strong vocals along with a smooth traditional and contemporary blend. The choir is very instrumental in projecting the melodic arrangements of Dr. Wooden, Minister Raeford and other writers from within.
Standing in Your Presence, features the Upper Room Sanctuary Choir and defines true inspiration, expectation, and transformation that confirms that “God Is In Charge.” The opening track, “Praise The Lord” starts the albums’ infectious energy that will soon have choirs and congregations singing along on Sunday mornings followed by the title track “Standing In Your Presence”. The upbeat track “The Race” continues the theme of “Nothing but Praise” throughout the entire project. The live recording adds a church experience guaranteed to inspire a new favorite tune and most importantly, bring every listener closer to the God of the Bible.
