Yesterday the North Carolina DMV began issuing ID cards and licenses to immigrants brought to the US as children who qualify under a federal work program known as DACA. The original license were set to have a large pink banner and the words “no lawful status.” The design sparked protest, so the DMV removed the color adding the words “legal presence.”
