A new born baby boy with his umbilical cord still attached was left on the doorstep inside a handbag of a home in Corsicana, Texas. According to police Sunday night the baby boy was exposed to temperatures that fell into the 40s.The baby survived and was taken to a hospital where he is in stable condition according to NBCDFW.
The person who left the newborn on the doorstep could face criminal charges depending on the circumstances leading up to the abandonment. The baby was released from the hospital and is in the process of being placed in foster care.
