Raleigh’s Police Chief Is Retiring, Making Way For The City’s First Black Female To Run Office

Some say Police Chief Harry Dolan decision to retire came as a suprise, but Dolan announced his retirement yesterday and that his plans will take effect Oct. 1st.
Dolan had been in law enforment for 32 years and just recently became eligible for retirement.
This will make wayfor the city’s first black female officer to run things until a permanent replacement is found. Deputy Chief Cassandra Deck – Brown who joined the department in 1987, will serve as interim.
