Pastor White entered the life of Watts Chapel five years ago and he has been on the go ever since, working to improve the community and the lives of the church members. Pastor White came to Watts with a vision for the members and the church – “to be a church that is Christ centered, Biblically based and Ministry Focused”. Working with the members, our mission was developed – “to develop disciples of Jesus Christ who advance the Kingdom of God through worship, evangelism, discipleship, the giving of tithes and offerings, and service. Under Pastor White’s leadership the church has:

– Added second Sunday worship celebration

– Added Tuesday noon Bible Study

– Organized a community trash pick–up on Good Friday

– Shoes for Souls project

– Provided funds for several Shaw University students to buy tickets home following the April 2011 tornado

– Encouraged more members to actively participate in church life and community improvement projects

– Increased membership from just over 500 to over 1100 in five years

– For his birthday party in July 2011, members were asked to bring items to be donated to the Raleigh Rescue Mission.

– He has been recognized by the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity as one of the effective Pastors in the Raleigh Community

– Purchased two buses to transport members to and from worship and Bible Study.

Pastor White makes an effort to know all his members by name. He is present in times of emergencies and times of joy.

Watts Chapel has more than doubled its growth spiritually, numerically, financially, and civically under the leadership of Pastor White.
