Whether it’s an advertiser, employer, or suspicious significant other, it seems no one is safe from prying eyes on Facebook. Now it seems debt collectors are a recent addition to the growing list of social media snoops.
The Federal Trade Commission is holding a workshop to discuss the ways in which debt collectors are using the World Wide Web to collect.
The name of the workshop is Debt Collection 2.0: Protecting Consumers as Technologies Change. Consumer advocates, government officials, and other authorities on the issue will meet with the FTC to come up with solutions.
