CHAPEL HILL — Three students were suspended from Culbreth Middle School on Thursday after police got a call about air pistols at a bus stop.
A 13-year-old was found with a cap pistol near the school, and a 14-year-old was found inside the school with a BB gun in his book bag, according to police. An 11-year-old was also suspended in connection with the case but was not found with a weapon.
The students were released to their parents and could face charges. No injuries were reported; the guns weren’t loaded.
Air pistols, which include cap pistols and BB guns, have an air cartridge that fires BBs or pellets.
