$100 Fine If Caught With Covered Tags

Several new laws take effect Wednesday across North Carolina, including one for drivers. In particular, any driver who has a license plate frame or cover over their tag could be fined up to $100.
The new law requires full visibility of the state’s name across the bottom of the plate, along with the number or month on the registration sticker.
