“Praise the Lord,” “give Him thanks,” “you can make it”–the messages which resonate through gospel music. The Power & Praise: Messages of Inspiration Music session took place this morning at the Radio One Media & Entertainment Convention. Moderated by Jerry Smith, the panel discussed the deep heritage of gospel music and how gospel music has changed through time. Panelists such as gospel artist James Fortune, Tracy Artist, Denver Wright (gospel music producer) and Kerry Douglas (Black Smoke Music Worldwide CEO) discussed whether or not artists such as Whitney Houston and R. Kelly were able to represent the gospel as well as other strictly gospel artists. It was a very insightful panel.
