Awards on Sunday night.
Most notably, departing epic drama “Lost” failed to nab any major trophies – and co-creator Damon Lindelof wasn’t too quiet about it.
Following Michael Emerson and Terry O’Quinn losing the best supporting actor award to “Breaking Bad” star Aaron Paul, Lindelof tried to buoy the Losties’ hopes.
“Do not give up hope!!! But Aaron Paul…AWESOME!!! Seriously people, do NOT GIVE UP!” he tweeted.
Unfortunately, “Breaking Bad” also nabbed the award for best actor from under Matthew Fox’s nose, which, along with “Mad Men’s” win for best series, appeared to send Lindelof over the edge.
“For the love of God do NOT… oh. Wait. Damn. Okay, fine. It is now okay to give up,” he concluded on Twitter. “Thank you for your energy, guys. We felt it.”
“Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner was off the podium long enough to take Lindelof’s side.
‘Like a lot of people, I thought “Lost” might win,’ he told eonline.com.
Weiner’s win for best drama also cramped “Dexter’s” style. Star Julie Benz channeled her pain for her former Showtime series via Twitter.
“No comment…. No comment… No comment… Except I am so proud of the work on Dexter Season 4!! We were robbed!!,” she tweeted, “…No comment…No comment.”
But it wasn’t all sour grapes, several newbies were proud to win their awards.
After “Top Chef” won for best reality show, stealing the trophy from “The Amazing Race” for the first time in seven years, Padma Lakshmi took to Twitter to express her joy.
“We won!!! Who can believe it??!!” she tweeted. “The best part of winning: there’s FOOD backstage!! ”
Meanwhile, former “Sopranos” star and “Nurse Jackie” actress Edie Falco’s historical win (she is the first woman to win an Emmy for both best actress in a comedy and in a drama) caused Peter Facinelli to pull his hair out on Twitter.
“Oops.Went to the bathroom and Edie Falco won an Emmy 4 Nurse Jackie. Missed the whole thing. #emmyfail,” Facinelli tweeted. “Congrats Edie. You deserve it! :)”
When his series lost best comedy series to “Modern Family,” Facinelli semi-retracted his previous comment.
“Nurse Jackie didn’t win. I can’t help but feel if I was in the bathroom we might of,” he tweeted. “Maybe next year. It’s an honor just to be dominated.
Despite lighting up Twitter following their 19 Emmy nods, “Glee” cast members were mostly schtum after the awards after losing to “Modern Family.” But after Jane Lynch won best supporting actress and Ryan Murphy won for best direction, Chris Colfer didn’t seem too upset about losing best supporting actor to Eric Stonestreet.
“OMG! The Emmys were so much fun! Got to work with Tina Fey and Betty White! Dream come true! Jimmy rocked!,” he tweeted. “So happy for Jane and Ryan! :)”
