Gospel Artist Earnest Pugh landed two awards on last weekend at the 10th Annual En Sound Music Awards held in Houston, Texas. The chart-topping powerhouse took home trophies for Song of the Year for the #1 Gospel Song “Rain On Us” and Male Vocalist of the Year. According to Pugh, “It’s been an incredible year! I do what I do to bring God glory but it certainly feels good to have my efforts recognized, applauded, and honored by my peers and leaders in the industry. Delroy and En Sound have always been consistent sources of strength and encouragement to my ministry and I am so grateful to them for being in my corner.”
“Pugh has established himself in the gospel music industry as a force to reckon with.” His latest CD, Earnest Pugh Live: “Rain On Us,” debuted #2 on billboard and has remained on the charts for over 54 weeks. The CD featured gospel greats Vanessa Bell Armstrong and Richard Smallwood. The lead out single “Rain On Us” topped the charts this year and has continued in rotation for over a year.
Currently on the road with his “Ask for the Rain Tour” in conjunction with the Yolanda Adams Wellness Tour, the DC resident visits 3-4 markets a week. He is also a featured soloist on the Kerry Douglas Gospel Mix Compilation CD (due in stores August 31, 2010) singing the gospel classic, “Perfect Peace.”
