Last night I caught myself watching the 1956 French children’s short “The Red Balloon” (Le Ballon rouge) written, produced, and directed by Albert Lamorisse. The short is an amazing piece of cinema. Literally no dialog which allows the images say it all. The film brings back memories of my childhood. It is amazing how so much emotion can be captured in simple images and a well thought out film score. I highly recommend this film to anyone.
