Cumberland County investigators arrested Tony Brian Knolle, 24 Monday afternoon after he set a 9-week-old pit bull on fire.
Knolle was charged with felony animal cruelty.
Investigators said early following a dispute with his wife.Knolle tried to burn the puppy to death.
The puppy suffered singe marks, burns, blisters and gashes along his left hip and leg.
Miacarla Knolle feared for the animal’s safety so she .surrendered the dog to the shelter, where it was being held in protective custody and receiving medial treatment.
Perkins said authorities are looking for a family to adopt the puppy.
