Wake County residents are doing what they can to beat the heat and there are several programs out there to help. One of them is “Cool 4 Wake,” which provides assistance to low-income individuals who are unable to cool their homes during these extreme conditions. The program provides about 300 to 500 fans during a typical season, beginning Memorial Day weekend and lasting until Labor Day. But, they have already seen an increase in demand.
For more information about the program or to make a donation you can call (919) 212-7083. You can also drop off fans at the human services building located at 220 Swinburne Rd.
