A group of students from Hillside High School say they will protest teacher layoffs and budget cuts Friday at the administration building downtown. The protest follows last night’s meeting during which school administrators said they are considering slashing more than $22 million from next year’s budget. A cut that large would mean nearly 250 teachers could lose their jobs and students would find themselves in larger classes. The protest is set for 2:30 p.m.
