State leaders got their first look Thursday at how the federal health care reform could affect the State Health Plan. They say it could mean some big changes for how and who is covered. The State Employee Health Plan covers 661,000 teachers, state employees, retirees and others. That’s a lot of workers who may have a lot to learn about their insurance coverage within the next few years. The first changes go into effect in June, but the big shakeup happens in 2014. That’s when new health care options go into effect, including health insurance exchanges and vouchers.
