People can now jump for joy, as the news has come down that the legendary Harlem School of the Arts has been saved and will not be closing after operating for the past 45 years. The school had a deadline to receive additional funds and as fate would have it the money showed up right on time.

Two philanthropic organizations stepped up along with a couple of anonymous donors to raise the million needed to keep the school open for the next year. Singer Mary J. Blige also has formed a charitable committee with a group of her celebrity friends that will be responsible for acquiring the needed future donations for the non-profit organization. It’s always nice to see the stars give back and support those who have always supported them.
