Yesterday the Wake County Board of Education voted 5-4 in favor of assigning students to schools within a certain community zone, thus ending its diversity policy. Talked to Rev. Barber from NC-NAACP listen to the interview.
Emotions and tensions ran high as opponents expressed concerns and fear that this decision would lead to re-segregation. Protesters shouted out young and old and three were arrested.
