There are new calls for an investigation into Gov. Bev Perdue’s fundraising activities during her campaign for governor. This comes just days after she returned $48,000 in contributions for what could be questionable donations.

North Carolina Republican Party chair Tom Fetzer says when Perdue refunded the money on Friday, it should have sent up a red flag to the State Board of Elections. The state board says that there is an ongoing investigation. In addition, it says following the Perdue campaign’s actions on Friday.
