The world recently lost one of its’ greatest treasures; artist Ernie Barnes. Barnes, who was best known as the artist behind the painting “Sugar Shack”, died earlier this year in California. The North Carolina Central University graduate leaves behind a body of work that is recognized worldwide as some of the best depictions of African-American life.
