First Sony Ericsson in RTP and now Kelloggs in Cary, are ending jobs in the triangle. Mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson announced that it will close its operation, eliminating 420 jobs. Sony Ericsson will move its U.S. headquarters to Atlanta and some people have been offered jobs at the new sites but it’s unclear when they will move. Meanwhile, Kelloggs Co. is shifting to optimize their network and simplify and standardize the processes in their bakeries. This has caused the plant in Cary to make necessary layoffs and those affected were notified this morning.
