A special hearing into the innocence or guilt of a Cary man who’s served almost 17 years in prison for a murder he says he didn’t commit enters what could be its final day.

Closing arguments were under way Wednesday morning in the case Gregory Taylor, 47, who was convicted in 1993 of the murder of Jacquetta Thomas, a Raleigh prostitute.

The three judges hearing the case are expected to issue a decision later Wednesday from the courtroom where they’ve heard evidence for six days.
