Fist Lady Michelle Obama announced a year mentoring program at the White House for some 13 chosen high school girls from the surrounding area. High school girls were chosen by their principles to be mentored senior White House staff on everything from careers to health and fitness. Mrs. Obama became interested in mentoring when she was a corporate lawyer in Chicago and saw how kids who were just as smart missed out on opportunities for success.
