Representatives for Mary Mary have just announced that Erica Campbell gave birth to a baby girl, Zaya Monique, Tuesday, January 24, 2012. Mother and daughter are resting comfortably.

Erica stated that she and husband, Warryn Campbell, are “feeling so thankful and so blessed to have our sweet Zaya finally make her grand entrance into the world! God is awesome, our family couldn’t be more happy than we are today!”

Zaya Monique was born at 6 lbs, 12 oz. Congrats Campbell fam!

The singer will take a few weeks to spend with her newborn before gearing up to promote Mary Mary’s new self titled WE tv reality series. The highly anticipated series premiers on Thursday, March 29th at 10pm ET/PT, then continues each week at 9pm ET/PT with ten, hour-long episodes.

2011 was a year with so many great Gospel songs, but fans voted “Nobody Greater” by VaShawn Mitchell as the best of the year in the Digital Gospel Music Awards, presented by Elev8! He beat out great songs by some of Contemporary Gospel artists, and received 487 votes, which was enough win 22% of all votes.

Second place was a tight race, with William McDowell‘s “I Give Myself Away” and “I Smile” by Kirk Franklin getting 16% of the Digital Gospel Music Awards votes for Best Gospel Song of the Year. McDowell’s 374 votes were just enough to help him secure Franklin’s 369 votes.

“He Has His Hands On You” by Marvin Sapp, Deitrick Haddon‘s “Well Done” and “I Believe” by James Fortune, came in fourth, fifth and sixth place, respectively. Rounding out the list are Wess Morgan‘s “I Choose To Worship,” ”Walking” by Mary Mary, and “Over & Over” by Trin-i-tee 5:7. Troy Sneed‘s “My Heart Says Yes” was surpassed for the last spot on the Best Songs of 2011 top 10 by Le’Andria Johnson‘s “Jesus” by receiving 41 write-in votes.

The votes are in for the first annual Digital Gospel Music Awards presented by Elev8, and Hello Fear by Kirk Franklin is the Gospel album of 2011 that moved fans the most! He received 447 votes, barely enough to edge out Le’Andria Johnson‘s The Awakening Of Le’Andria Johnson, which fell two votes short with 445.

The deluxe edition of LeCrae‘s Rehab came in third place for this Digital Gospel Music Award, while YRM (Your Righteous Mind) by Donald Lawrence & Co. finished fourth. Both albums received over 9% of the 1638 votes submitted.

The rest of the top 10 albums of 2011, based on votes received for Digital Gospel Music Awards, consists of Church On The Moon by Deitrick Haddon, Mary Mary‘s Something Big, Yolanda Adams‘ Becoming, I Survived by Dorinda Clark-Cole, Mississippi Mass Choir‘s Then Sings My Soul and Angel & Chanelle by Trin-i-tee 5:7.

Rodney Talley‘s Revelation received the most write-in votes, but not enough to make the top 10. With albums from Fred Hammond, Marvin Sapp and Brian Courtney Wilson coming in 2012, next year promises to be another great one for Gospel music fans.

Like the Braxtons, Mary Mary come from a large family. There are six siblings in the Braxton family, the five sisters featured on “Braxton Family Values,” and a brother. Erica and Tina are two of eight siblings. While we have yet to see if there’s a fiery Tamar Braxton-type of personality in Mary Mary’s family, Tina and Erica are far from docile. When they were criticized for attending a Beyonce concert, their Twitter responses showed how they’re not reluctant to speak up for themselves.

Is “Walking” By Mary Mary The Best Gospel Song Of 2011?

Like the Braxtons, Mary Mary’s reality show will air on the WE television network. “Braxton Family Values” has brought WE its largest ratings, so the tone of the Mary Mary show will probably be more like the Braxtons, than Sinbad’s squeaky clean show that previously aired on the network. Plus, Mary Mary’s show will air after “Braxton Family Values” on Thursday nights beginning March 29th.

Like the Braxtons, Mary Mary grew up singing Gospel music. While the Braxton sisters all moved into secular music, Mary Mary’s Erica and Tina continue to sing Gospel. The mother of Mary Mary was an evangelist/choir director and their father was a youth minister. However, Erica’s and Tina’s songs are often heard on non-Gospel outlets, and their fan base is broad.

Erica’s husband Warryn Campbell is reportedly the executive producer of the Mary Mary reality show. In addition, he’s a highly accomplished producer, and has provided the soundtrack for most of the Mary Mary hits you know and love.

Mary Mary’s new reality show is tentatively titled “Mary Mary” and will debut on Thursday, March 29th on WE TV. Will you be watching?

The popular three-time Grammy award-winning Gospel duo, “Mary Mary,” Erica and Tina Campbell are always busy doing something or “Something Big” as their latest CD is titled, but check out their next big adventure.

WE tv has given the green light to a brand-new original series, tentatively titled MARY MARY, that follows Tina & Erica Atkins Campbell in their daily lives as they work to do it all. The series premieres Thursday, March 29th at 9pm ET/PT with eight, hour-long episodes.

Music is a family business for the Campbell sisters: Erica’s husband, Warryn, is the group’s producer and Tina’s husband, Teddy, is the drummer in Jay Leno’s band. Outside of the recording studio, both ladies struggle to balance family life — a challenge all on its own. Erica and Warryn are expecting their third child in February, and Tina and Teddy are raising a blended family of four. The sisters also have a very large, extended family of seven siblings to deal with — one of which is the group’s stylist — and their parents, who have been married and divorced three times, and now currently separated. When it comes to finding harmony, signing’s the easy part!
