A mix-up at a Raleigh gas station caused some customers to put the wrong fuel in their cars last night. A worker at the Shell gas station at 6801 Glenwood Ave. said a supplier put diesel fuel into tanks meant for regular unleaded. The worker said only four drivers put the wrong fuel in their cars before the problem was detected. One customer said his car stalled out as he tried to leave the gas station. He knew something was wrong and alerted the Shell worker. The fuel supplier fixed the problem, and cleared the gas lines.

A 911 call made after a member of the state Board of Education was assaulted Saturday didn’t mention that she had been attacked. As you may remember 62 year old Kathy Taft died on Tuesday afternoon, three days after she was attacked in the Raleigh home of a friend and suffered a severe head injury. Wake County District Attorney Colon Willoughby said Wednesday that he asked for all records in the case to be sealed because the premature release of information in the case could hinder the police investigation.

From MSN

Herbert and Zelmyra Fisher of New Bern, N.C., hold the world record for life in wedded bliss: 85 years. He’s 104, and she’s 101.

On their May 13 anniversary, they will join an elite club: the longest marriages on record. One couple got a big head start on their marriage. You must go back more than 200 years to find the other couple married 86 years.

A Fisher time line: Around their 10th anniversary, this everyday household appliance hit the carpet. When they celebrated their 25th anniversary, this song was a hit (watch videos). When they marked their 50th, this irritating icon was everywhere (see pictures, if you must). By the time they reached their 75th year of marriage, we were hooked on this reality show.
