Race participants, help commemorate the 50th anniversary of “The War on Poverty” and Community Action by dressing in 60’s, 70’s or 80’s appropriate gear. There will be a post-race “Decades Dance Party” and live judging at the finish line. Race participants save your spare coins and bring your change containers to the race for the “Change 4 Change” Pile-up. There will also be a change container decorating contest for individuals and teams. Fun prizes will be awarded.
The Race 4 Change 5K race will occur on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at NCSU Centennial Campus at 2:30 p.m. There will be a competitive running division as well as, a non-competitive run/walk division. The Race will fund innovative economic development initiatives to empower vulnerable and low-income citizens in North Carolina to achieve independence from public programs.
