Former East Carolina University and Campbell University coach Earl Smith passed away Sunday morning, according to the the Fayetteville Observer.
Smith coached the Pirates basketball team for four seasons, before taking over ECU’s baseball program.
He went on to coach a variety of sports at Campbell University, and is a member of the ECU and Campbell Sports Halls of Fame.
Smith was 95-years-old.
