The federal judge handling the criminal case against John Edwards says the trial will begin next month. At a hearing Thursday in Greensboro, defense lawyers told the judge doctors say Edwards’ heart condition is in a management stage.
The judge set jury selection to begin April 12 and the trial will begin April 23.
Attorneys were in court Thursday to present their arguments about whether Edwards’ former aide should be allowed to testify about conversations he had with witnesses who cannot take the stand. Defense lawyers say that testimony would be hearsay.
