“MY HEART SAYS YES”

At first thought one may say Troy Sneed has reinvented his traditional praise and worship sound from past radio hits as “Hallelujah” and “Work It Out” to a milder, more contemporary collection of intimate acoustic performances. However, the melodies on Sneed’s most recent project, entitled “My Heart Says Yes” (the title cut already on Billboard’s Top Five Hot Gospel Songs Chart) are simply the results of Sneed giving God and the world the best he has to offer. Combining his fondest childhood memories of playing the piano and guitar just for fun, with his off the stave falsetto, comparable to Maxwell and Robin Thicke, Troy has created ear candy for the worshipper. Sneed pulls on the listener’s heartstrings with “Great & Marvelous” and the unplugged versions of “Glorify the Lord”, “Holy is the Lamb”, and an extended version of the title cut “My Heart Says Yes”. Also, aware of the large fan base established by the success of “Hallelujah” Sneed offers a similar tempo, and praise filled tune with “Great Jehovah”, as well as “Tell the Lord You Love Him”  a fun filled, retro reminder of that good ‘ole’ gospel music that continues to be the foundation of all music. “My Heart Says Yes” hits stores May 10, 2011.

Troy’s career in the industry began with the Florida A&M University Gospel Choir, (where he served as the minister of music) and a chance meeting with Reverend Milton Biggham, the founder of the Georgia Mass Choir. For more than a decade, he toured worldwide with the award winning choir, in the capacity of Assistant Minister of Music, even appearing with Georgia Mass in Penny Marshall’s movie and Disney production of “The Preacher’s Wife”, starring Whitney Houston and Denzel Washington. This relationship also afforded Troy the opportunity to release two projects, entitled Call Jesus, and Bless That Wonderful Name on Savoy Records.

In 2003 Troy, with his wife Emily, began the gospel record label Emtro Gospel. The label multiplied by leaps and bounds, ranking third among the gospel industry’s most outstanding labels according to Billboard Radio and Records Year End Charts, in just five short years. God allowed Troy to build a phenomenal roster which to date includes Alvin Darling, Arkansas Gospel Mass, Bonafide Praisers, Bruce Parham, Rudolph McKissick, Jr & the Word and Worship Mass Choir, Wilmington Chester Mass Choir, Youth for Christ, and of course Troy Sneed. Completing the trinity (of artist, CEO, and producer), Troy was named as one of Billboard’s top three gospel producers, and has been blessed to be acknowledged by some of the music industry’s top institutions earning Grammy, Dove, and Soul Train Music nominations and Stellar Awards.
