About 70 people will lose their jobs at the Goodyear tire plant in Fayetteville. A spokesman for the United Steel Workers Union confirmed the layoffs Wednesday. Union officials say Goodyear recently switched the plant over to a higher value tire and are removing equipment for the lower value product. They say the layoffs begin tomorrow. Last month, Goodyear fired 15 employees after a seven month-long undercover operation. The former employees face more than 69 charges in connection to the sale of marijuana, cocaine and prescription drugs.
