The year-round school calendar is a controversial topic in Wake County as the school board tries to manage growth while giving parents more options for their children’s education.

Some Wake residents upset with school system
The school system, last week, posted the names and contact information of more than 800 Wake County residents who answered a call from school leaders to give feedback on the issue.
The comments were part of a larger effort to gauge attitudes on year-round schools that includes a parent survey and several community meetings.
