There is a Winter Storm Warning in effect – all day for all of our listening area. Although meteorologists expect the precipitation to diminish by the afternoon hours, temperatures will continue to fall through the day causing for freezing during the evening hours. Snowfall totals vary from place to place across North Carolina; Roxboro reported 8 inches on the ground where Fayetteville has seen mostly sleet and rain. At Raleigh-Durham International Airport, the official tally was 3 inches at 10 a.m.
A winter storm warning remains in effect for most of the state until midnight Saturday.
